The Gran Crema is a very attractive, high performance, traditional pump espresso machine with an art-deco styling. It features a patented pressurized filter holder that makes great espresso without requiring the skills of an expert. The result is an excellent tasting espresso topped with great crema. It has a large, transparent water tank with a handle for easy removal. The drip tray contains a water level indicator that shows when the tray needs emptying.

Features and Benefits:

Pump System: The Gran Crema features a powerful pump rated at 15 bars (217.6 psi) of pressure. The Italian coffee making tradition requires steady pressure to produce first class espresso and coffee. Only in such a way can the water plow through the finest coffee grounds, for the perfect extraction.
Pressurized Filter holder:
The Gran Crema uses a pressurized filter holder that is both easy to use as well as being very forgiving. The patented filter holder ensures a great extraction of espresso by pressurizing the brewing chamber, thereby creating the perfect espresso brewing elements. This is accomplished through a small spring-loaded valve located below the filter basket. The valve remains closed until the pressure builds. After a few seconds the pressure is enough to push open the valve and release the espresso. The high pressure forces more flavor and aroma out of the coffee, making a fine espresso with an excellent crema.
Boiler:
The Gran Crema features a durable stainless steel boiler and heating element. The steel resists corrosion and ensures the longer life span of the machine. According to its use, it is recommended that the machine is decalcified every 45 days to maintain the internal components in excellent working condition.
Pod Capability:
The Gran Crema comes with a special filter basket and a pod adapter that allows to use Easy Serving Espresso (E.S.E.) pods. This enables the machine to handle either ground or single serve, prepackaged shots, called pods.
Plug-in Pannarello:
Saeco's Plug-in Pannarello frothing attachment is designed to make frothing quick and easy. The Pannarello is easy to remove and is made of two parts that can be disassembled for thorough cleaning. The wand is made of stainless steel and swivels to accommodate different sized pitchers or mugs.
Hot Water Dispenser:
If hot water is needed for Hot Chocolate, Tea or Americanos, simply turn on the brew switch and open the steam knob.
Removable Water Reservoir:
The Gran Crema features a large removable 68 oz water reservoir. It is easily removable and it is transparent so the water level can be checked at any time. The large reservoir size allows for a number of drinks to be brewed before needing to refill.
Housing and Construction:
The body of the Gran Crema is made of durable ABS plastic. Both drip tray and pan are made out of heavy duty plastic and are removable for easy cleaning.
Accessories included:
Traditional 1 or 2 cup espresso filter; adapter and 1 cup pod filter; measuring scoop; 12 espresso pods; 1 instructional manual.
